The European Synth Pop Party-Sampler, featuring a fresh, self confident Synth generation from Sweden, France, Germany, Slovenia etc. Their excellent material has brought up a whole new definition of Synth Pop in 1996. The Synth Pop collection convinces without the usual showing off with “big names”, simply because of the excellent music, concept and layout.
This sampler was the breakthrough for many of the bands on it. Several samplers were inspird by our concept. It has enriched the Synth Pop scene with some surprising facettes.
Record Release Info
With these thirteen exhiliarating songs from the Underground of European Synth-Pop, Chrom Records presents its first compilation. Under the self convinced moto “The Daydream Collection” you’ll find a variety of new names, many of the bands being released for the first time.
Amongst the most notable artists are OLIVER DEAN, the latest discovery of legendary DJ and Distain!-mentor Rudi Schäble… the Slovenian TripPop surprise SILENCE… Archive material from the French U.S.S… the desperately looked-after 12” of the Augsburg group THE BARONS, and the sound of future directions for both DISTAIN! and INSIDE.
Obviously a collection of material that even for documentary reasons alone is of highest interest. However, that’s in fact not the intention of this “Daydream Collection”, instead, we wanted to build a bridge to the times when Wave-Pop was about enjoyment, and the indie-clubs hadn’t yet become cells for moping around. All songs have a certain party athmosphere with just the right amount of melancholy which we find? well, simply amazing!
Our definition of a good party: When selecting these tracks, partly from our own archives, we decided fully on purpose to avoid established names; as on a market already overflooded by compilations, the quality of our collection speaks for itself. Much of what can be heard here can already be called a “best of” for the future of synth pop. This sampler’s message is: there is a new self confident synth pop generation at work that we’ll most definitely hear from in the future!.
