Deine Lakaien’s very minimalistic electronic debut! This concept album, best characterised by quiet melancholy, is centered around the eternal motif of “Struggle and failure”.

Published in 1986 on vinyl and self-distributed by the band, the album was re-released by Chrom Records/classX in 1991. The “1st Album” is one of the most important, pathbreaking electronic albums of the Mid-Eighties. From the beginning on, Deine Lakaien were an important artistic force in this development.

The “1st Album” is a very quiet album, yet it contains Deine Lakaien’s first great independent wave-dance-hit, “Colour-Ize”.

Zillo

The album is marked by a variety of ideas, and a wide spectrum of means of expression, which make the music very lively, sometimes nervous and torn, then again enticing, fragile and sensitive.
